Taluka-Bhiwandi, India—At age 9, Bhavesh Patil should have been running and jumping, playing with his pals; instead, he was weakened by symptoms that might have belonged to a 70-year old: chest pains, chronic cough and shortness of breath.
After trying local practitioners, Bhavesh’s father brought him to PRASAD Chikitsa’s Anukampaa Health Center (AHC) in January, where doctors promptly diagnosed his heart disease.
Without corrective surgery, Bhavesh’s condition would have continued to worsen and put his life at risk. The fee for the surgery at the Nair Hospital in Mumbai was Rs. 55,000 or US $1,200. Despite the urgency of the situation, the amount was far beyond the reach of Bhavesh’s father.
However, an anonymous PRASAD Project donor stepped forward and paid for all of Bhavesh’s expenses!
Bhavesh is doing well now, and will soon be fully recovered. In fact, by April he was riding his bicycle!
Bhavesh’s father has given his special thanks to PRASAD and the donor for saving his child, saying, “PRASAD has given a second life to my son.”
We are grateful to you for your support and we are pleased to share with you the personal stories of those whose lives you have helped to improve. We hope that their stories illustrate the power and importance of your donations, and inspire and motivate you, as they do us!
Please continue your support by making a donation to The PRASAD Project, so that we can serve even more children like Bhavesh! Thank you.
