PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program has been granted two awards, one through a Congressional bill and another from a private organization called the Dyson Foundation.
US Congressman Maurice Hinchey (D-NY) has secured $200,000 for PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program (PRASAD CDHP) as part of The Sullivan County Dental Health Project, a partnership with Hudson River Health Care.
The funds have been awarded through the Labor, Health and Human Services and Education Appropriations bill for the 2010 fiscal year. Hinchey said, “By investing in the equipment used by these important health care service providers, we are helping to improve the quality of care they provide to patients across the Catskill region.”
Michell Speight, Director of Programs for the Dyson Foundation of Millbrook, NY, announced, “I am delighted to inform you that the Board of Directors has approved a grant of $75,000, to help PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program to replace their Mobile Dental Clinic.”
The Dyson Foundation has a major funding program in the Mid-Hudson Valley of New York State that aims to improve and enhance the quality of life in the region for all of its residents, especially those most vulnerable or economically disadvantaged.
In acknowledging these gracious awards, Dr. Cecilia Escarra, PRASAD CDHP’s Program Administrator said, “We are deeply grateful to Congressman Hinchey and to the Dyson Foundation for their generous investment in our program and in the dental health of children in our area.”
