Haiti Earthquake Disaster—Update
Jan 29, 2010—The volunteers and staff at The PRASAD Project are inspired by the many donors like you, who are contributing to relief efforts following the earthquake that struck Haiti on January 12.
PRASAD’s collaboration with Direct Relief International (DRI) is providing rapid and effective response to the crisis. Within 24 hours of the earthquake, DRI had sent $420,000 worth of medical and nutritional aid to Haiti. Since then, the organization has sent more than $6 million in medical aid to our partners on the ground who are caring for the injured.
Key to DRI’s effectiveness is its relationships with other respected humanitarian organizations to provide disaster relief quickly, wherever the need is greatest.
