2022 marks The PRASAD Project’s 30th Anniversary!
For the past 30 years, The PRASAD Project has been partnering with communities to design and implement innovative solutions that respond to and respect local conditions and cultures and inspire people to improve the quality of life for themselves and their communities in India, Mexico, and the U.S.
Since 1992, PRASAD’s programs have helped more than 1 million indigenous Adivasi people in 250 villages across India’s Tansa Valley through healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, community development, food security, livelihood, and agriculture programs. In Mexico, 33,000 children and adults have received free eye surgery to correct cataracts and cross-eyes, and in the US, 90,000 low-income children in Sullivan County, NY have received dental health education and treatment. Now, we are looking toward the future. We are focused on growth and sustainability as an organization and for our programs across the globe, so that we can meet the evolving needs of the people we serve for generations to come.
To do this we need to improve our capability by updating facilities and technologies, bringing in new people with diverse skills, expanding current programs and exploring new ones, and continuing to assess community needs and program impact.
Over the coming year, we are celebrating 30 years with inspiring stories of the difference you, our donors, have made by supporting PRASAD’s work. There will be opportunities to participate in events and campaigns. Our goal is to raise an additional $150,000, to help us fortify our organization and expand programming now so we can push forward from a position of strength to the next 30 years.
Specifically, with your support we will improve our infrastructure and operations across all programs, upgrade the eye clinic, expand the Nutrition program to benefit more children, and increase the number of villages our Mobile Hospital reaches at PRASAD Chikitsa; update the PRASAD CDHP Mobile Dental Clinic, and support PRASAD de Mexico to successfully reopen the eye camps, among other initiatives.
We will also enhance operations at our U.S. headquarters, increasing our capacity to provide strategic and operational support to our global programs and ensure PRASAD’s future
