Women of Akloli-Pendhripada head home with sacks of nutritious, non-perishable foods after PRASAD Chikitsa’s ration distribution in their village.

Dear Friend,

We hope you and your family are staying well.

Now, more rapidly than ever, the ways in which we live and work are changing. As a result, we are adapting and doing things in new and more dynamic ways. At PRASAD, we’re thinking through the same challenges and reimagining how our global teams work together.

The most vulnerable populations are facing the threat of not having any source of income or access to food. Recommended or mandatory social isolation means that millions of people have suddenly found themselves unemployed. Without a doubt, the number of people experiencing hunger is going to increase dramatically, and it is already a significant challenge across the globe.

Please take a moment to hear thoughts from PRASAD Project Co-Chair, Dr. Vivek Panchapakesan. In the video, Dr. Panchapakesan provides an update on the COVID-19 crisis and the work of PRASAD around the world.

Dr. Vivek Panchapakesan, Co-Chair, The PRASAD Project.

Just as this crisis has caused many of us to refocus on the things that matter most to us personally, we are using this time as an opportunity to bring that same focus to PRASAD. Our mission is to work in partnership with people to benefit communities in need, and we are finding that the need and our work are especially critical during these uncertain times. Your support is more crucial now than ever. So that we can continue to meet growing needs during this crisis, will you give a gift today?

Continue to stay safe and healthy.

Warm regards,
Dr. M. Cecilia Escarra
Executive Director
