Helping Children Thrive
Children Are Our Future
A child’s potential depends greatly on how well we care for them as they grow. That’s why at PRASAD Chikitsa, we take a holistic approach — nurturing children’s health, nutrition, and well-being so they can thrive throughout childhood and into young adulthood.
Helping Children Thrive
Mother Child Nutrition Program

In the rural Tansa Valley, nearly 71% of children are malnourished, and pregnant and nursing women often face severe protein and calorie deficits. Many families live at a subsistence level, unable to afford the nutritious foods needed to support healthy growth. For more than 35 years, PRASAD Chikitsa has provided children up to age six, and pregnant and nursing women, with milk and protein-rich nutritional snacks six days a week, along with regular medical check-ups to ensure sustained health and development.
School Health Camps

Twice a year, PRASAD Chikitsa conducts School Health Camps in villages across the region, offering:
- • Physical exams
- • Detal checups
- • Vision screenings
- • Distribution of medicine and vitamins
We also provide health education to teach children and families the importance of prevention and daily care — because healthy children grow into healthy adults.
Why This Work Matters
Malnutrition affects far more than a child’s growth. It limits their ability to learn, weakens their immune system, and reduces their future earning potential — impacts that can last for generations.
The good news is that with the right interventions, malnutrition can be prevented. Ensuring that children receive adequate protein and nutrients — especially in the first six years of life — is key to their physical and cognitive development.
But we don’t stop there. As children grow, regular care is essential to prevent minor issues from becoming serious. In the Tansa Valley, poverty, lack of awareness, and limited transportation make accessing healthcare difficult. We are changing that.

Our Impact
Currently, PC provides 50,800 nutritious servings to 500 children, pregnant women, and nursing mothers in 20 villages across the Tansa Valley.
In 2026, our goal is to continue serving 500 children and mothers in the identified high-risk villages. Depending on the severity of malnutrition, children require sustained support for one to two years or more — including regular nutritious meals, health monitoring, and caregiver education — to achieve lasting improvements in their health and development.
Additionally, we reach 1,100 students each year through our School Health Camps at five locations. These camps provide essential health checkups, deworming, and hygiene education, helping underserved students stay healthy and focused on their studies. Next year, we plan to expand the program to 20 schools, reaching a total of 2,000 students annually.
