Good News to Start the New Year!
On behalf of all of us at PRASAD, warm wishes to you and your loved ones in the new year! Together, we made 2022 a successful year for PRASAD thanks to your generous support.
We are delighted to announce that April 6th marks the 25th anniversary of PRASAD Children’s Dental Health Program (PRASAD CDHP). Stay tuned for news of celebrations to come.
In the U.S., Access to dental care continues to be one of the biggest challenges within the health care system.
Launched in 1998, PRASAD CDHP has remained committed to improving the dental health of children by providing affordable, comprehensive dental services through education, prevention, and treatment. Our focus is on children from low-income families who are less likely to receive dental care.
Since inception, PRASAD CDHP has provided over 91,500 toothbrushes, completed 31,300 dental visits and performed 96,300 dental procedures. PRASAD CDHP has been conferred many awards, including being a five-time recipient of the Give Kids a Smile Award from the New York State Dental Foundation.
We begin this anniversary year with wonderful news! The Mother Cabrini Health Foundation has granted $600,000 in support of our Happy Healthy Smiles project to fund a much-needed new Mobile Dental Clinic for PRASAD CDHP. The foundation funds programs and initiatives across New York State that either provide direct healthcare services or address the social determinants of health. We are grateful for their support!
